Home to North America’s largest Chinatown, every year this enclave of Asian culture rolls out all the stops for Lunar New Year, hosting the biggest Chinese New Year parade in North America and the largest outside of Asia. Checking out Chinatown should obviously be high on your list, but there are countless other activities and attractions to check out. Take a ride on one of the city’s famed cable cars, the world’s last manually operated cable car system (the California Street cable car even goes through Chinatown) or check out nearby UC Berkeley, one of America’s best universities. There’s also world class museums like the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the California Academy of Sciences, or the Asian Art Museum, home to one of the world’s largest collections of art and objects from the Asian continent. If art isn’t your thing, take a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and just soak in the majestic view - after all, there’s a reason they call it the City by the Bay.
