Exploring American University is the first step for exploring Washington D.C!
Firstly, I’d like to talk about my cute roommate. My roommate, Leah, is a beautiful girl from Chicago. We had a good chat and exchanged interesting stories about China and the United States. I didn't adapt to the strange environment at first, but Leah’s enthusiasm really helped me a lot.
Secondly, the dormitory building is amazing. The dormitories at AU are quite different from those of Chinese universities. In addition to the larger wardrobe and sufficient heating in the room, the public facilities in the dormitories also open my eyes. The lounge provides extracurricular entertainment places for students. You can chat with your friends here or turn on the TV to relieve your fatigue.
The kitchen provides a stage for students who love to cook. Many of my friends like to cook by themselves. They say that the meals they made can alleviate their homesickness.
Thirdly, I meet other students coming from China and made friends with them! In a foreign country, it's really exciting to see classmates from the same country! Students from China took us on a tour of the campus and helped us apply for an American bank card and a telephone card. These are two necessary tools for international freshmen. They help you to solve your material and spiritual needs, don't they?
In addition, I went to a Chinese supermarket and a hot pot restaurant with several friends last weekend. It's hard for me to imagine that the hot pot in the United States could taste so good! At this point, don't misunderstand that the canteens of AU are not popular with students. On the contrary, I love AU's canteen! There is plenty of food and drink here, which can satisfy your love of food!
I was looking forward to coming to AU before the trip, and I'm glad to have my choice after coming here. Exploring AU is the beginning of my understanding of Washington D.C.. Obviously, this is a good beginning. More people are waiting for me to meet; more stories are waiting for me to write.
